English heritage

They say it’s like stepping back in time when you step inside the Haunch of Venison in Salisbury.
Massive oak beams, wooden floors and an old world character makes it stand apart from the usual run of pubs, eateries and restaurants.
It’s the oldest pub in the Wiltshire city, with a history dating back 700 years or more. Yet like many of Salisbury’s buildings its medieval character is part of the undisputed charm of English heritage at its best.
I haven’t eaten here for some little while, but it’s one of those places that once visited you always promise yourself you will return.

Then again, there are many parts of Salisbury like this.
