Red Admiral

I managed a quick walk around campus at lunch time to see what the Indian summer had brought out.

This Red Admiral was very taken with the apiary netting. Elsewhere we had Large and Small White, Speckled Wood and another Painted Lady. 

We had a fierce thunderstorm to close the day. Is that it for summer now?
