The view from Cardiac Ward

With all that happened yesterday, I didn't get round to uploading last night...

On Sunday, I was moved from Coronary Care to Cardiac: this is the view from my new room, looking out over the Atrium. The window is apparently made of bullet-proof glass and the room itself is rather hot, so my stash of spare blankets has gone and with them my escape route...

However, it was the discussion with the specialist nurse that have really scuppered my plans for getting out. "Significant damage", she said, and "the MRI will tell us whether or not we can try to reverse it"... so, it wasn't such a little heart attack after all.

But before we worry about that, I need an angiogram to determine the cause. I was 4th on the list for today, but an emergency meant that mine had to be cancelled - fortunately, that news arrived 5 minutes before the lunch trolley! It's one of those things, but at least I'm 1st on tomorrow's list. And, because I'm no longer on in need of critical care and therefore permanently attached to a monitor, I was able to have a shower and wash my hair! After nearly a week in hospital, that felt sooooo good!

I'm glad I took this view, because after supper, the lovely (they're all lovely) Italian nurse Roxanna has decided that I will fit in perfectly with her lovely ladies in Bay 6, so I'm on the move again... to a shared area. I'll miss having my own room.
