and whose life wouldn't benefit from a bit of that?

This was the sunset we never thought we'd see.  The weather forecast was for horrible weather for the whole of the afternoon, but we were very lucky and so spent the day in sunshine.

We wandered through forests and past very big houses to Unteruhldingen - a walk that included the shortest  & longest kilometer in the world.

We started at the sign that said "Unteruhldingen 5Km".  After about 2 minutes we found another sign that said "Unteruhldingen 4Km" - "how fit are we?" I wondered.  After another 10 minutes on the path we found the sign that said ""Unteruhldingen 3.5Km".  So, not very fit.  After another 10 minutes a sign that read ""Unteruhldingen 3,5Km".  And 10 minutes later yet another sign with "Unteruhldingen 3.5Km".

I reckon they just had a load of those signs and needed to get rid of them.  Or the village is actually called "Unteruhldingen 3.5Km"

There isn't much in "Unteruhldingen 3.5Km" although you might enjoy a visit here. As far as I know it is about 3.5 Km to walk around.

Afterwards we took a ferry to Überlingen - not so massively touristy as Meersburg and very pretty.  Although one shop surprised me with its name.  You can see that in the extras - but don't look if you are easily offended.

A long wander round there and then we headed home.  The ship was obviously host to a group of some kind as it was suddenly full of people in Lederhosen & Dirndls.  I reckon about a 100 joined in Überlingen and there were at least that many more waiting to join in Meersburg.

We skedaddled to our favourite corner in Meersburg for a glass or 2 and to get out of the rain that cleared the promenade.  Afterwards, off to a restaurant for Flammkuchen and blethers.
