Imperia
Imperia is quite an imposing figure as you approach the harbour in Konstanz. She is nine meters tall and turns around every 4 minutes.
In her hands she holds the naked figures of Kaiser Sigismund & Pope Martin V - and the whole thing is meant to be some satirical reference to the 1414 -1418 Council Of Konstanz. I'm sure you all have your own views of how that council went.
It was meant to be a day of rain - from morning until night - so said the weather forecast. And so we hopped over to Konstanz where we planned to hide out in museums and get some culture as the rain poured down.
Except it was sunny. Really sunny. I may be a bit burnt. We walked into Switzerland (not difficult but always lovely), wandered around a bit and then wandered back into Germany. A spot of lunch - Zwiebelkuchen & salad - and then a long wander out of town past some amazing houses and home on the car ferry.
The rain never appeared - a couple of drops but really nothing.
