Vanderbilt Bathroom

We visited one of the many Vanderbilt mansions today. This is at Hyde Park on the banks of the Hudson River. It was bult by Frederick & Louise Vanderbilt, and used in the Spring & Autumn. They had other houses elsewhere. Between the 8 siblings of that generation, they had 43 houses. It was essentially a place for adults to play and socialise. The house is in darkness to preserve it, so the lights are on. A possible entry for the 'Night Lights' challenge!

Wevalos visited the Franklin D Roosevelt estate and walked across the Hudson River on a railway turned into a walkway (see extra). We are now a couple of hundred miles East in Newport, and will visit another if the Vanderbilt mansions - The Breakers.
