Over the top

In a moment of madness, S ordered a whole leg of pork from a local organic producer a couple of months ago. Today was delivery day, so I volunteered for the rendezvous in a car park in Capendu. Up and over the top of Alaric; I rarely take this route as it's quicker to go around via the main road, but on a fine day, provided it's not too windy, it's a beautiful road with lovely views -- not easy to capture with a camera though. Alternative here.

"You'll need to invite a few people round," said Xavier. Think of how large an adult pig is -- the leg was huge, over 11 kg. I staggered to the car with it and rammed it into the coolbox, which was too small. Then back home the quick way to drop off the leg and pick up S, as we had an appointment at the Centre Culturel

It was the usual well-attended bunfight; first, short video previews of the season to come, then delicious canapes and drinks, and then a show, GRAIN: Histoire de fous, by a company called ... Mmm. Actually one person, Marie-Magdeleine, who provided an incredible tour de force. An hour and a half alone on stage, the sole prop a blue stool,  playing six characters who were distinguished simply by gestures and tone of voice. The setting was a charity looking after people who had been released from psychiatric care and were attending a theatre workshop run by Marie-Magdeleine. Even if it wasn't always easy to follow, her sheer energy, sincerity, and psychological strength was captivating. More info here (in French). I love how adventurous the programming is here; you never know what to expect.
