Up, Up, and Away

We visited the Redwood Forest in Northern CA all day today, hiking over 12,000 steps which may not be much for some folks. My 65 year old joints say that was a bunch. I took over 300 photos and wish I could share every one of them with you. There is much on line about the redwoods and the parks where they are found. A few facts: Some of the trees are five stories taller than the Statue of Liberty. They can live to be 2,000 years old and grow to be more than 375 feet tall. They get their name from their bark and heartwood. The reddish-brown color stems from high tannin levels.
