Holt/Sheringham 1940s Weekend

This annual event has become huge since we first went a couple of years ago.  We caught one of the free vintage buses to Sheringham, and wandered down to the seafront for an ice cream.  The main street was packed with people and those not wearing 1940s outfits were in the minority.  It was a spectacle indeed.  Almost all the shops in Holt & Sheringham exhibited a 1940s inspired window display and 1940's music was much in abundance too.
We caught the steam train back to Holt, where there were many retail 'tents' selling all manner of 1940s clothing, hats, antiques. There was a large display of military and civilian vehicles too.
While we were standing near the steam engine which was gently hissing, the unmistakable roar of a Rolls Royce Merlin engine could be heard as a Spitfire flew low over the railway station...magic!
