Autumnal beauties

This Common Marbled carpet moth Dysstroma truncata, was in my moth trap yesterday morning along with numerous Large Yellow underwings, wasps and a Hornet!!! which I have to confess frightened the life out of me. Luckily I know they are really docile, so I carefully removed the egg box he was sitting on to a safe place up the garden so he could be on his way when he woke up. I think I might give moth trapping a miss for a week or two though.
