A night with Charlie

Here we all are off for an evening with Charlie Phillips and Mercedes Powell from the WDC ,Whale and dolphin conservation. Charlie is the Field Officer for the area and takes amazing photographs of the resident dolphins, the largest Bottle nosed dolphins and the most northerly population in the world.
The girls were very excited and were full of questions. A great evening which I'm sure has increased the girls knowledge and understanding of these great creatures. No dolphins appeared although two of the girls told me they had just spotted one breach when I was nt looking ;)There were a few seals around.
The girls made a fantastic dolphin out of stones called Ocean. A welly boot becomes a great pebble carrier. One of the girls found the sign by the lighthouse amusing - DANGER-strong currents- NO BATHING ! The English language can be rather confusing, not sure why it does nt say swimming, it seems rather old fashioned now.
I also gave the girls a few tasks to do so that they could gain a special dolphin badge so I have a bag full of amazing collaged dolphins and great poems about the Ocean.
A beautiful evening weatherwise too, no wind and with a lovely sunset but it's definitely starting to feel colder.
