On the Autumn Highway

A beautiful sunny and bright morning to usher in a new season in New England. A season that must bring us rain for our parched flora and fauna, the effects of the drought are so terrible to see. Our backyard squirrels are busy gathering hickory nuts and leaping and scurrying along their highway of branches. The sparrows are busy securing winter digs and pumpkins are appearing on doorsteps. The dry conditions will probably keep us from having glorious foliage this fall, but hopefully we will lose the pesky humidity soon.

It's farewell to our pal from California today as she heads to western  Massachusetts to connect with other close friends, then on to Maine to be with our friend S for what would have been our sadly missed friend B's 74th birthday. BB will then head back to California and end her vacation of fun with so many well loved folks.

I have another painting exhibit showing on Saturday 2-4 at the Historical Society Museum and then we are off on another trip on Sunday!!! Our gerbil wheel just keeps on turning!! I think we'll spend the month of November in front of the fire(hopefully it will be cool by then) with books and a snoring cat. We should be back to the regular rhythms of Dogcorner by then. I would not trade one moment of the summer whirlwind, but I am a wee bit tired around the edges.

It will be fun to have time to look at blips again!

The official closing on my parents' house sale is October 3rd after we return, and my niece and husband close on their first house in Plymouth tomorrow!!!

For the Record,
This day came in warm and sunny with less humidity.

All hands healthy
