Little Stint

This beautiful Little Stint is the smallest of the common waders and likes to frenetically work the mud around the fringes of the lagoons & wadi pools. This bird is always on the move and is usually seen in small groups. Similar species are the Sanderling and juvenile Dunlin, both also found in Oman, while on migration. Surprisingly not as shy as other much larger waders, I put this down to the fact that they are so well camouflaged and that they are always in a tight group and can quickly fly off if you really get too close.
