If you can't beat them...

Ouse Bridge

I was due over near Cockermouth for an early evening meeting.  Being short of a blip, so what's fresh!   I decided to allow time for a wander along the shore of Bassenthwaite Lake, which is incidentally the only Lake in the Lake District.

Having blipped the views towards Skiddaw and Keswick before I wandered the other way to the point where the River Derwent leaves the lake.  At that point stands Ouse Bridge, being In suppose built there as the first place after the start of the lake near Keswick where you could cross.

Fortunately Ouse Bridge appears to have survived Storm Desmond unscathed.Sadly we are losing the beautiful traditional bridges as the storms and flooding become more common and severe.
