Dinghies at Tankerton

The fine weather continues so after the gym and lunch (again outside) this morning we decided on an impromptu visit to Whitstable, our new favourite place along the North Kent coast. And it didn't disappoint, this shore walk takes in all sorts of environments from more isolated beaches to the busy colourful harbour, loads of beach huts and galleries, places selling oysters, places selling fish and the obligatory ice cream van.

Being a Friday afternoon and early evening it was obviously wine o'clock as along the sea front; in cafes and bars, balconies and terraces and in the occasional beach hut bottles of wine were being enjoyed facing the sea and the westering sun.

We, of course, didn't get involved in any of that, settling for a cup of tea and a shared packet of mini-cheddars at a cafe on Tankerton Banks. Many people were out enjoying the early autumn evening, some swimming in the placid sea. Summer is lingering on in the South East. We did have a beer back home in the evening!

The extras are different views, it was difficult to decide which to post today.
