Manchester morning

We had to travel to Manchester City centre this morning, to sort out a few things. Along the way we:

* had a look inside the cathedral to see how the various changes are going. I like the "Paint a Pipe" project - a new organ is being installed, and 24 schools entered a competition which involved painting pipes from the old 19th century organ. Examples top left.

* had tea and toast at Propertea opposite the cathedral. On a shelf next to us J noticed a row of old books. She seems to have read them all. Enid Blyton passed me by, she was (is) a fan ........

* we watched some of the Street Athletics heats taking place in Albert Square, whilst .....

*a young bride and her bridesmaids arrived behind us, all looking beautiful for the ceremony at the Town Hall
