Off to the windfarms ...

... in the North Sea

The Diving support vessel Wilchief 1 reversing out of Lowestoft harbour.  It has a  helicopter pad as well as submersible equipment for servicing and maintaining the giant wind powered generators that are now a common sight around our coasts, although it is sometimes forgotten that what we see above sea level is only a part of the story, and the power needs to be carried ashore by cables on the ocean floor, which is where the divers play an important role.

My extra today shows some mundane but equally important equipment carried on deck:  ladders!
