Blackberry juice

Another busy day, which started with delivery of the Corsa into the garage. After taking Ben to Stamford, Pete and I went out to Conington to continue yesterday's monitoring visit. The garage rang not long after we arrived, only to say that the diagnostic computer had come up with seven or eight possible causes for the fault, and there was no way of working out which one was responsible! I'm sure at one time mechanics would actually be able to examine an engine and come up with a proper diagnosis,  but apparently cars are now too complicated for that. They suggested replacing the lambda sensor first, and if that doesn't work they're suggesting a new catalytic convertor. More expense...

I really wasn't feeling too happy with the explanations I'd been given, or the fact that the work won't be done till Tuesday at the earliest, but the sight of a group of red admirals greedily slurping the juices of over-ripe blackberries took my mind off the car. And it proved to be the most beautiful autumn day with a deep blue sky embellished with fluffy white Simpson's clouds and a gentle breeze to keep the temperature just perfect. So I couldn't be angry for long!
