Symmetry

A lavender field in the Provençal countryside is a wonder of symmetry, whether the plants are young and well-spaced or so bushy that they form straight lines. We walked among them on the plateau today, harvested and dry under a hot sun. The forecast had suggested showers, but we saw only fluffy afternoon cumulus that only now, at teatime, are encroaching on the sun.
