A different culture, a different time.

This is a Nupe carved panel door from Nigeria. It lives on the bend of our stairs. If you want to know why I have mentioned it before

Three of these panels would have guarded the village huts from wandering animals. MrsS didn't live far from the small village of Lapai where these doors where made. It was once famous for producing them but I gather the Nupe people no longer practice the art.

Cultures can change but memories just tend to fade.
