White Wells

Day 1 of the Dales High Way, walking from Saltaire to Ilkley, over Baildon Moor and Ilkley Moor. This is the cafe at White Wells, seen at the end of the day from the path down to Ilkley.

It was unseasonably hot for September, and at lunchtime we sheltered from the sun behind one of the Twelve Apostles stones. See my extra photo for a picture of this stone circle.

In the evening there was an intense thunderstorm; fortunately the flickering lights didn't disrupt the cooking of our excellent meal at an Italian restaurant.
