Above Skipton

Day 2 of the Dales High Way, from Ilkley to Skipton.

As we remembered from the first time, the start of the day along the edge of Rombalds Moor is delightful, but the path into Addingham is a sad mess. Stone stiles have missing steps, a boardwalk over bog is sinking, and signs are absent where the way across fields is unclear. At least this time we knew to go through the centre of Addingham rather than follow the enclosed path around the edge.

My extra photo is from the second stretch, an easy long straight track that used to be a turnpike road into Skipton. It shows a boundary stone at Draughton Height, looking back in the direction of Addingham.
