Central Station

Today we leave Lake Como and head for the city which was home for many years.

In the past when I travelled between Rome and Milan I either took the plane or an overnight train. Now with the high speed train it only takes three hours.

We had a quick lunch at Milan Central Station in quite a pleasant bar. It was very hot as we were sitting at a sunny table. The train was comfortable though I had inadvertently booked a rear facing seat.

We got to Rome at 17:00, the start of the rush hour. The traffic in Roma is as chaotic as ever, despite there only being public service vehicles in the city centre.

We booked at serviced apartments where I spent many months many years ago. It is close to the Bocca della Verità and the river. This is almost a small village in the city. Not too much has changed so we found a local bar and restaurant before calling it a day.
