On the canal

(Backblip)

We had a church outing to the Chichester canal today. The weather was glorious and the boat stopped on the way back to let us get out and have a look at the view of Chichester cathedral that Turner painted in the 1800's. There is a photo of the view. (You can also see the man who was steering the boat pulling it in to moor, and a photo of the boat taken from the Hunston bridge). The entire canal network used to run through to Portsmouth. I enjoyed a Bakewell tart on the boat, and Stuart had a cream tea back at the canal basin at the end of the journey and we both had a cup of tea, sitting on the balcony which had the view of the basin shown in one of the photos.
