Year Of The Fire Monkeys

It was our IT Konferenz today and we continued one tradition of having 300 people in a room with poor air-conditioning as the sun shone on the windows.  

The motto for this year's conference was "Be the Change" but you can't possibly expect me not to know that the full quote from Gandhi is meant to be "We need to be the change we wish to see in the world" (although I'm prepared to accept that he never actually said it - it sounds profound enough that he might have).

Odd too that we had an English maxim for our very German Konferenz.  But I'm beyond questioning how odd things are - my life is defined by oddness.

The title of today's Blip comes from a Chinese logogram that our Big boss used - she explained that we are in the "Jahr der Feueraffen".  And it translates to exactly "Year Of The Fire Monkeys". 

It sounds to me that we're in the year of the best B-Movie that I've never seen.  Doug McLure would be in it for sure.
