Cycling in Valencia

There is just so much to see and do (and eat and drink) in Valencia. We spent three hours during the morning exploring by bike, taking advantage of an entirely flat city and the unique urban green space that now exists where the river Turia used to flow through the city. Following devastating floods in 1957, the river was diverted via the city outskirts and the former river bed was transformed into a remarkable area of parkland and recreational facilities. Towards the port on the former river is the stunningly futuristic City of Arts and Science, where this photo was taken. A healthy pursuit no doubt, balanced out with some bar hopping this evening as we enjoyed Valencia's balmy and lively night scene.
