Weaver bird

A trip to Stellenbosch and surroundings.

First we went to Vergenoegd, where we watched the duck parade (see extras), then tasted some wine.  We resisted buying.  Friends on Facebook, who have been treated to several "check-ins" today, and will already know that W's sister was not particularly impressed with the Running Duck wine.  We also did the "duck tour", and it was whilst waiting for this that we were standing under a tree full of weaver birds and their nests.

Then a very meaty lunch at Spier Hoghouse.  There was a lovely old oak tree, and also many Coral trees (see extras).

Then we intended to visit Rustenberg, where we had been informed there was "a lovely garden, also nice red wine", but unfortunately, it was closed when we got there.  Instead, we drove into the hills, and had a cup of coffee at Hillcrest Berries, with the glorious view also to be seen in extras.
