As the Sun Goes Down ...

... we get closer to Britain and another lovely trip ends.

Today it was a relatively short journey from Vannes to Roscoff much of it off the main autoroute. We turned of at St Pol de Leon for a spot of fresh air and a blip at the beach. There was a lovely restaurant there but sadly no vacancies for us. It would have been a tight timetable to get a meal and to the ferry on time so we we carried on and had chips and a beer at the ferry port. That was very nice too, sitting in the sunshine.

We got through customs without a second glance but I'm glad I wasn't the young man with an oversized baseball cap and a BMW with oversized wheels who got taken apart by the French douane, spare wheel out and all his worldly goods on the pavement.

We were almost first off the ferry and home within the hour. That's the great thing about living where we do. The crossing might be very expensive but it's so convenient!

Main blip is the sun going down from the boat. Earlier on while having our meal we had great views of gannets coming by but sadly none when I got on deck with the camera. The extras are one from St Pol de Leon and one looking back at Roscoff as we left the harbour.
