Life in Newburgh on Ythan

A day in Glasgow

A quick visit to Glasgow to hang some pictures in our elder granddaughter's student flat. I do still serve some useful purpose in life!
The main photograph is of Mrs T and our granddaughter out for lunch in a small Japanese restaurant. Good food!
The extra are a couple of random impressions of Glasgow. The first, a typical small grocer's shop on the Great Western Road, advertising the ever popular Tunnock's teacakes.
The other, the outside of the Mackintosh House at the Hunterian Art Gallery. According to t'internet, the Mackintosh House comprises the meticulously reassembled interiors from the house occupied by Charles Rennie Mackintosh and his artist-wife Margaret Macdonald from 1906 to 1914. The interiors are furnished with Mackintosh's original furniture and fitments and decorated as closely as was possible to the original. The House presents the personal setting of this remarkable artist-couple and provides an impressive example of the concept of the 'room as a work of art'. So, there we have it.
All in all a busy and tiring but most enjoyable day out.
