Sanderling(Calidris alba)

The star of this mornings lagoon visit, this absolutely gorgeous Sanderling, the whitest of all the small waders! Such a beautiful bird and in tiptop condition, I hope this one is joined by some other Sanderlings as they usually feed in flocks. Watching it for a while it settled down in front of me and had a nice sleep! Photo extra, the Sanderling settling down on the rocks for a sleep. Fabulous! I could happily have stayed all morning but I have ironing to do!
