YORK MINSTER

York Minster as it is seen from the Bar Walls of the city, with Grays Court and the Treasurers House in the foreground.
This 60 metre high English Gothic Minster, one of the largest of it's type in Europe is where the Archbishop of York is based. The Archbishop holds the second highest office in the Church of England.
The first recorded church was a timber structure hurriedly built to baptise Edwin King of Northumbria in AD 637.
Anyone visiting our fair city must take time out to see this beautiful building and does not have to be religious to appreciate it's magnificence. Also the National Trust's Treasurers House and maybe take an iced coffee in the grounds of the Grays Court.
