Suppliant women

Well it certainly settled the argument. I was right. It's suppliant, with a short 'i', not a long one.

But no matter. Who's counting, as it were? (Well, the government in case you're a foreigner...). It was brilliant. And all about foreigners and gender issues. As a part of our project to "see more theatre", it was just the job.

It was the best bit of a day on which a veil is best drawn. It started with another travel related f*ck-up and proceeded through an absolute car-crash of what appears to be the FCO policy (although who knows?) on allowing non-UK citizen academics to give advice.

On such days, this seems to be the best response.
