Vicar(age Lane)

The vicar is ageless, and lost is his lane,
where brambles and bracken obscure the road's name.
Church pews are deserted, no clergy remain,
for new generations treat church with disdain.

Yet out in the churchyard, the graves still increase,
day by day, year by year, to protect the deceased,
while up on the churchtower, priest or no priest,
gulls and rooks rule the roost with a blessing of peace.

Waited till very late afternoon to go for a walk. As we set off, I felt it was almost glove-weather, but I soon warmed up. Very little wind as we walked through fields of bullocks and sheep and enjoyed the sea views.
