Da Lightsome Buoy

Another glorious day of sunshine in paradise :)  Calm and warm again.

My weekend working in the museum.  It's been a hectic morning, setting up for events this morning and also dismantling events from last night.  Even with the sun shining, it's been a steady day of visitors too.  Met mam for lunch, and enjoyed a salad at the Olive Tree.  Nipped out this evening to see friends, and now a quiet night in, mixed with walkies with Sammy.

I nipped out the morning to see the unveiling of Da Lightsome Buoy, a new sculpture by artist Jo Chapman, commissioned by LHD, Lerwick Port Authority, Shetland Catch and Shetland Fish Producers Organisation.  There was speeches by John Goodlad, Sandra Laurenson, Aubrey Jamieson and then a debut launch of Hannah Adamson's (Cunningsburgh) composed fiddle tune for the ceremony, as seen in the photo.  The sculpture is for the pelagic fishing industry in Shetland, old, present and future, and features text and images on it.  Shetland certainly need more art sculptures around the isles.  Taken at the Esplanade, Lerwick
