Botanical Building

The interruptive sign outside the Botanical Building in Balboa Park states that it is one of the most photographed structures in San Diego. That is hard to argue with when you see it on such a picture perfect day. My daughter, the botanist, was excited to see it open for the first time in her many visits to the park. The inside, however, did not live up to its exterior. Orchids and ferns were the focus, with little else to hold her interest. That and the fact she was scolded by a docent for touching the plants (the only true way to determine what they are she tells us) means she will likely not set foot inside again, but will view from the outside like the vast majority of photographers.
