The Road to Broadslap...

John and Norma visited today. 

I felt so guilty as we haven't seen them for weeks.  Alan was absolutely beside himself with excitement when they arrived.  

As it was a lovely afternoon, we decided to go to Broadslap Farm Shop for coffee and cake.  If you're ever near Dunning, I can thoroughly recommend it.  Warm, welcoming service and delicious food, especially the home baking.

Between the four of us we managed scones with butter and jam, carrot cake, lemon drizzle cake, chocolate brownies with ice cream, and rocky road.  Lovely smooth coffee too.

When we got back we took John & Norma out to see the extension. They couldn't believe how much it's come on since they were last here.  As Norma said, they no longer had to try and visualise it, it's there!

After our gutsy afternoon at Broadslap, I'm not quite sure how we managed to eat our steak pie dinner, but we did, although we didn't attempt the toffee and ginger cake I'd got for dessert.  

A lovely relaxing day.  Just what we needed.
