Wal(k)mart

This morning half of the group was well awake at about half past 4 in the morning... Our internal clock has still to be set to the right timezone.

After a nice shower we went downstairs for breakfast just before 7h00. The breakfast buffet would open at 7h, but it turned out to be just a bit later. We were the first and had a good meal. There was fresh fruit, bread, eggs, cereal, dairy products, etc. While having breakfast we made plans for the morning. Some guys would go running and meanwhile me and 5 others decided to walk to the closest Walmart.

The closest Walmart is 3 miles or 5 kilometers from the hotel. So we started walking at about 9 o'clock. We took the bike trail all the way along the river and the golf courts of the Ohio University Athens. The sun shone brightly on our heads.

Once at the Walmart, we first went to the Kroger store. A very big store I thought. But then I visited the Walmart which was even bigger. Imagine a big hangar full of supermarket stuff. Endless rows of candy, soda, nuts, cereals, etc. You name it, they've got it. I bought an Ohio Bobcat T-shirt for just $10,- and some Skittles and crisps for our room. We bought some bottled water with the group and a football. Next stop: Wendy's for a hamburger lunch.

Once we had gotten back by cab (it was too long a walk to do two times) we played some soccer on the grass field in front of the hotel. We played until we had to leave for our tour of the campus. Katie showed us around, talking more to me and some others than to the entire group; sorry guys. Heard some cool things about life at the campus of this university.

She dropped us off at Bromley Hall. We got ourselves a smoothie before we had to attend the very first meeting and introduction into the Ohio Business program that we are here for. The coaches/professionals are great and after the first assignments were finished we had a drink and a bite in a restaurant/cafe. I played a game of pool (won) and then played the piano with lots of the guys singing along. It was a lot of fun!

Once back at the hotel, I sat by the pool to finish the homework assignment before going back inside and uploading my blips. So here I am, and it is time to go to bed. Goodnight!
