Enjoying the Autumn sunshine ...

Headed into London with friend/blipper Steve Oldfield today.  We started off in St James' Park where the squirrels were enjoying the Autumn sunshine and the nuts provided by the tourists!

After an unexciting sausage roll and cold chips at Inn the Park (the only good thing was the pastry!) we wandered through the park to Buckingham Palace.

Next we headed down Birdcage Walk where we spotted some soldiers being drilled and inspected by their sergeant in the forecourt of Wellington Barracks (see extra).  Wellington Barracks are home to the Foot Guards, the Regular Infantry regiments of the Household Division of the British Army whom currently serve on public duties in London. Located in barracks close to Buckingham Palace they can reach the Palace quickly in an emergency.

We ended the day walking through Parliament Square Garden, over Westminster Bridge and along the South Bank.

Dinner was at my favourite Chinese, The Good Earth in Mill Hill.  I even managed the whole meal with chopsticks - albeit slowly!!

A really great day with great company and loads of fun as always :-)
