Project Candle Stick..........(Xmas present)

    As you can see I have now finished turning the candle stick itself, but still have to drill a blind hole in the top for the candle holder. I also have to make a base for the candle stick to stand in.
 The black line you can see is not a crack, but a bit of 'Spalting' meaning that there is a bit of black fungus in the grain of the wood. This can happen with any type of wood and does not affect the turning. It does however add interest to the piece.
I will blip the completed candle stick later.
    I have put in the extras, the equivalent size piece of wood in the lathe ready for turning. Just gives you an idea from start to finish.
