Hairy legs

This spider's spines look as prickly as the gorse bush it was dangling from.

My Guide to Spiders of Britain and Northern Europe  (covering over 350) has not enabled me to identify the species with any accuracy but it does inform me that the eight legs are each composed of seven segments and that the spines, hairs or bristles they carry have a sensory function. A bit like a cat's whiskers I imagine.
