The day started with an early trip to the dentist at 8 o'clock.  As yesterday there had been a hard frost and the need to scrape the windscreen almost made me late.
With about a third of my face numb we drove south to Sundsvall to visit our friends L and R.  On the way we stopped off at a lake to take a walk.  Although the sun was shining brightly, most of our walk was in shade, in the pale, white world of frost I described yesterday.  The extra shows this in the section unreached by the sunshine, where everything is white and the lake is fringed with ice. By lunchtime the numbness had receded and I was feeling fine.
Today's blip is not taken on the previously mentioned walk but just outside our friends' flat where this sycamore tree (Acer pseudoplatanus) is growing, (known as the sycamore in the United Kingdom and the sycamore maple in the United States). The black spots on each leaf (tar spots) are caused by a fungus but I thought they just added to the glorious autumn colours against the blue sky.
Yesterday's backblip "Peephole" can be found here.
