My research on this plant reveals the following.

These plants are dioecious, i.e. They have male and female plants.

This is a female plant.

The female plant produces a megasporophyll, which is in fact modified leaves.
I once grew a small one at home, but the squirrels destroyed it.
Bad squirrels.
