Who? Why? How?

This is Gamelands Stone Circle on the Orton Fells. One of the largest stone circles in Cumbria, it is easily accessible, but is hardly ever visited. Why? Because all of the Shap Granite stones have tumbled, so it is classed as a 'flattened' stone circle.

It is true that it is not as impressive as some of the other stone circles, where stones are upright, but it is in a quite dramatic setting amongst the fells and it is still possible to sit there and wonder . . . Who? Why? How?

Or maybe to just sit there and wonder . . .
