Sticks and Stones?

Bhaktapur City: an old district just a few minutes outside Kathmandu, with a rich cultural heritage. It was hard hit by the earthquake and is also home to a tent camp for those who lost their homes (shades of Haiti, in a smaller scale...).

At this point, we're told the population of Kathmandu (and surroundings) is about half what it normally is (5 million) as people have gone home to celebrate two holidays, so traffic is substantially less busy than it normally is (that seems right from what I remember of 3 weeks ago). Schools and government agencies are closed. I liked seeing these groups of elder men: some playing some version of 'sticks and stones'; others gambling on card games.

We're getting ready to check out of the hotel, go shopping for a couple of hours, then visit "little Tibet" and the Hindu cremation center (how morbid, non?) before heading directly to the airport for a 9:30pm flight to Doha.
