Wallflowers

Quick trip to the garden centre to buy garlic to plant out this weekend. Garlic and broad beans to go in tomorrow. And so the cycle begins again.

Took the car to be washed, always fascinating to watch people swarming over the car taking minutes to do what takes me hours.

Collected lots of library books that we'd ordered which now form a huge pile on the bedside table. Took quite a time to read a recently reprinted book, written in 1937, on the natural history, archeology and geology of Ireland. Inspirational book, along the lines of a book, written long ago about travels in the Dolomites which inspired me to visit. Now reading a book where the author is retracing the steps of a Victorian lady who was on the first Thomas Cook tours to Switzerland.

Good news at the gym. Weighed in at 87.5kg, 13 stone 10.5 lbs, the lightest I've ever been as an adult as far as I can recall. Celebrated with a beer and freshly made toasted teacake this evening.
