The Armadillo from the BBC

That title -and perhaps the picture -  needs a bit of explaining.

The Armadillo is the Glasgow name for one of the theatre spaces in the city's Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre.   Its official name is the "Clyde Auditorium".    For the past three days it has been where the SNP has been meeting in annual conference - the biggest party political conference in  these islands at present, with 3000 delegates.  It is also, incidentally, my 34th SNP annual conference having only missed one since 1982.

This view of the SECC is taken from the 4th floor of the BBC Scotland HQ at Pacific Quay.   I was there before 8.00 am in order to appear on the radio news and current affairs programme  Good Morning Scotland and talk about the conference.

The reflections in the picture are from posters on the walls by the huge windows in the BBC that look on to the Clyde.   Gary Robertson, the regular morning presenter (but not on a Saturday) was in the poster closest to this window , hence his spectral , but not physical, presence .
