Waiting impatiently

Busy all day without achieving much!

A morning of domestic stuff followed by an afternoon in Alnwick. MrM purchased a pair of shoes and we indulged in tea and cake at Granny's. My scone was enormous. We also looked around a furniture store that had an 'everything must go' sale - presumably they're closing down. It was fascinating - not the furniture (though they had some very lovely pieces), but the building. Behind a very modest shop front is a huge shop, with lots of rooms through winding passages and up crooked staircases. After buying a few more small items MrM drove us back via the lakes at Branton, where we stopped for a walk with Louie.

Usually he meanders slowly behind us on the path, but today he walked ahead when MrM and I stopped for a couple of minutes to look at the swans and other birds on the lake. Then turned and looked as if to say "get a move on"!

I shall do some more painting of woodwork this evening while MrM plays at a gig with the jazz band..
