Ångerman River - Ångermanälven

We travelled inland and upriver to Styrnäs Church where we listened to the Weber String Quartet.
We drove up early to give us time to take a walk along the river. The water levels were really low because there has been very little rain this summer and we later heard they have never before been so low.
We are close to Styrnäs church here, looking up river towards Sollefteå on a cloudy evening. The river is wide here but has been much narrower as it flows through the hills you see.
There are a lot of geese on the river but they seem nervous and kept away from us so they are seen here as black dots! But we could hear them talking to each other as they swam and flew around in that slightly hyped up manner they have as they migrate southwards.
After the (excellent) concert we were invited home by an old friend we met there who lives nearby, and enjoyed supper and a chat before driving home in the dark.
As usual HarlingDarling's journal describes the day better than mine does!
