The Crannog Restaurant Loch Linnhe

Weather good. Dry and bright with thin cloud.
Apothecary7, Maeve the Deerhound and I travelled to Spean Bridge today. We followed a good part of the route we took when we went to Ullapool in August.

From Campbeltown, leaving at 10am, we went North up the Kintyre West coast road then on into mid Argyll. Tarbert, Lochgilphead, Oban (with a stop for petrol), then we stopped on the other side of Oban at Poppies for lunch. We carried on to Connel and went over the bridge then North through Benderloch, stopping at a car park by the roadside just North of Appin so we could have a walk on the long distance path which runs along the side of Loch Linnhe. Then on into Duror and Lochaber crossing the bridge at Ballachulish to get to Fort William.

We had a stop in Fort William and had a wander through the main shopping area of town. Apothecary7 had a look in one or two shops then we all had a wander about in a big outdoor shop which was dog friendly. Last thing, late in the afternoon, was to visit the supermarket before the short drive North to Spean Bridge we are staying in a little lodge in some lovely birch woodland beside a river.
