Derwentwater looking towards Skiddaw

Interesting day today, weather forecast was for heavy rain moving in by lunchtime, so we headed off to Great Wood, as it's very near, and after a section of shoreline, we at least had the shelter of the woods to disappear into for the wetter pasrt of the day.

Trouble was, the rain never arrived - had a really pleasant day.

I used a polariser and ND grad to control the sky and to retain detail in the trees in the mid-distance. I tried to wait until I achieved an attractive line of waves coming in from the lower left to fill the area of plain water.
